Antonio Giovinazzi has said that an unknown puncture was what caused him to spin and DNF at the Britsh Grand Prix.

The Alfa Romeo driver was in the hunt for another top ten finish when he spun and got stuck in the gravel on Lap 21, ending his race.

“We had a puncture but we don’t know why, so we’ll need to check the car when it’s back.”

Giovinazzi out-qualified his team-mate Raikkonen for the third consecutive race yesterday, but again couldn’t take that form over to the Sunday, as the Finn finished in the points again.

“We’re not really happy with today, especially because we were close to Kimi, and Kimi finished P8, so we could also have got points but you know, that’s just it. ”

The Italian is now 24 points behind Raikkonen in the Standings, and only ahead of the Williams drivers.
