Hamilton wants 2008 Spa win back…deletes post

Lewis Hamilton: Wants Spa win back
Lewis Hamilton has been up to his old tricks on social media again, calling for his Spa win in 2008 to be given back to him before promptly deleting the post.
Hamilton went on a trip down memory lane on Instagram, reliving the thrilling Belgian Grand Prix from a decade ago where both he and Kimi Raikkonen locked horns for the race victory in the pouring rain.
The Brit was forced wide off the track at the Bus Stop chicane and came back into the action behind Raikkonen before passing the Finn again soon after.
While Raikkonen went on to crash out later, Hamilton took the chequered flag until the stewards slapped him with a 25-second penalty after the race as they deemed that he gained an advantage by leaving the track.
It demoted Hamilton down to third spot and Felipe Massa was declared the new winner.
With the Belgian Grand Prix on the horizon, Hamilton asked his 6.9million followers on Instagram whether the stewards should reconsider their decision.
Hamilton quickly deleted the post, with the last line saying: “It’s never too late to put things right.”
