Lewis Hamilton won 11 grands prix last season on his way to a fifth World title but he has warned his rivals, this year “can be even better.”
The Mercedes driver raced to his fifth Drivers’ Championship title last season, only the third driver in history to achieve that feat.
Hamilton was up against Sebastian Vettel throughout the season and while Ferrari held the advantage at the start, Mercedes not only won the development war, but kept mistakes to a minimum.
This meant Hamilton took control midseason and raced to the title with two races to spare.
He’s hoping for even better this year.

“2018 was a great year, but I feel like 2019 can be even better,” he said.
“I want to achieve more, I want to continue to keep pushing. I feel energised and I am ready to attack.”
“I’m really looking forward to the next step of our journey together with Mercedes and embarking on what’s not been done before,” he added.
“This is my seventh year with the team and the energy and the determination within the team are really inspiring.”
The British driver took a complete break from Formula 1 during the off-season.
Known for his celebrity lifestyle, he went surfing with Kelly Slater, attended the Super Bowl, played in the snow and focused on his fitness ahead of the upcoming season.

Hamilton said: “I had a great Christmas with my family and then I went snowmobiling, I went skiing, I went surfing with Kelly Slater, which was amazing.
“I completely switched off from racing for a while, trying to focus and re-centre myself and training hard for the new season.”
Hamilton will have his first taste of the W10 on Wednesday when he takes to the Silverstone circuit for a quick shakedown and some promotional filming.
