Horner wonders if Wolff will contact anybody after Brazil

Following the news that Toto Wolff called Jos Verstappen and asked him to calm down his son, Red Bull boss Christian Horner asked if his Mercedes counterpart will contact anyone after Max’s incredible drive on Sunday.

Last week in the build up to the Brazilian Grand Prix, Wolff gave Jos a call to ask that his son not get involved in the Drivers’ Championship scrap between Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.

The conversation garnered criticism from Horner, saying that Wolff was way out of line and if he wanted his drivers to race without hindrance then he should hold a separate race to everyone else.

Horner added that the Austrian’s plea for Max to calm down clearly didn’t have any impact on him as the teenager stole the show after his fantastic P3 finish in Brazil.

“I wondered if Toto might be sending anybody a text after that, or calling anybody, but it was a great move and demonstrated that Toto’s phone call didn’t have too much of an impact on how Max does his motor racing,” he explained.

The Spanish Grand Prix Champion made a number of overtakes and audacious moves as he went from P16 all the way to P3 during the final stages of the race, something Horner, and the rest of the Formula 1 world, was in awe of.

“The Verstappen show! It was really unbelievable driving, great entertainment. Physics are being redefined,” he concluded.
