Former Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Button claimed victory in The Race All-Star Series Legends Trophy event.
Button was racing in the Brawn colours which he sported in his title-winning season in Formula 1 back in 2009.
The Briton led from pole to flag on a virtual Sebring track, taking $10,000 in winnings which will be donated to a charity of his choice.
Ex-F1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya finished P2, while 1997 F1 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve, who was making his Esports debut, finished P6.
“It’s amazing how nervous you get,” said Button, as quoted by Reuters.
“I was more nervous on this in the race than I am in real life.
“I think it’s because every corner you feel like you’re going to end up in the tyre barriers.”
Villeneuve’s drive from last to P6 was even more impressive since he was using an Xbox controller, rather than an actual steering wheel.
The Legends Trophy is for drivers over 40 and Torque Esports, who organise The Race All-Star Series, was set to reach more than 600 million homes due to a 90-minute highlights agreement with major international TV networks.
The 2020 Formula 1 season is yet to get underway after the opening nine rounds of the season were called off due to the coronavirus pandemic.
