Lando Norris has recorded his first Supercars victory in the reverse grid race at COTA – and is mastering the Aussie accent along the way.

Norris is no stranger to success at the Circuit of The Americas having won on his virtual IndyCar debut there and has followed up with a victory in another racing class.

The McLaren driver is proving to be a big hit Down Under and was asked back to compete in the latest Supercars rounds after his wildcard entries last week.

The reverse grid race at Spa resulted in a podium finish last week and this time around he has climbed to the top step in what was a pretty routine win compared to chaos that seems to follow Norris in some of the virtual races.

In between races, Norris has been challenged to get as many ‘yeah, nah’ and ‘nah, yeah’ responses as possible into his interviews in order to fully embrace the Aussie way and has had the rest of the grid in hysterics.

“It was good fun,” said Norris. “After the drive-through [in Race 1] I needed to take advantage of starting [at the front] and going for the win in this race.

“I had decent pace, it was a nice little win.”
