Another new sponsor joins forces with McLaren

Carlos Sainz says he was "puzzled" by McLaren performances when fighting them for Renault in 2018.

McLaren has entered a new ‘multi-year’ partnership with the FAI Aviation Group ahead of the new Formula 1 season.

McLaren’s most notable commercial move during the winter break has been securing Unilever as a sponsor after their agreement with Williams expired at the end of the 2019 campaign.

And the Woking-based team, who finished 2019 in the best of the rest slot, now has a new sponsors with ‘Germany’s leading global provider of mission-critical aviation services’, according to their official statement.

The partnership also includes some on-car advertising, with the FAI Aviation Group name set to feature on the rear wing endplate of the MCL35.

“The FAI Aviation Group is a perfect partner for McLaren Racing,” said McLaren CEO, Zak Brown.

“Being trusted to provide services to NGO’s and several government agencies underlines the quality and professionalism of the company and its people. We are proud to welcome them as partners from the 2020 season.”

Siegfried Axtmann, group chairman and founder of the FAI Aviation Group, added: “The partnership aligns two internationally recognised brands, leaders in their fields, both committed to excellence.

“We are very excited to become a partner of McLaren Racing enabling FAI to promote its services within the Formula 1 community.”
