Mercedes reveal more shots of the silver W13

Mercedes have officially taken the covers off their new car for the 2022 season – the W13 – at a special launch event at Silverstone.

Although Mercedes were able to land an eighth consecutive Constructors’ title in 2021, the controversial events of Abu Dhabi and how Lewis Hamilton saw the Drivers’ title slip away from his firm grasp would have left a very bitter taste in the mouths of every team member at the Silver Arrows.

But 2022 represents a fresh start…and a return to silver.

Mercedes last used a predominantly silver livery in 2019, switching to black for the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

And on hand to unveil the new car was Lewis Hamilton, making his first official public appearance since the events of Abu Dhabi, and his new team-mate George Russell.

Mercedes have revealed in their initial technical specification of the W13 that the front suspension is made up of a carbon fibre wishbone and pushrod-activated torsion springs and rockers. The rear suspension is pullrod-activated.
