Would Max Verstappen or Lewis Hamilton be faster in the same car?
We asked fans about an age-old conundrum in Formula 1, and brought it up to the present day. If Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen were in the same car, who would be faster out of the two of them?
PlanetF1.com’s Henry Valantine headed to Autosport International in Birmingham to speak to Formula 1 fans as the curtain raises on a new season, and while it’s unlikely we’ll ever see the two current titans of the grid in the same team, the hypothetical question of who would be best in equal machinery has always been a tantalising one to Formula 1 fans.
Having two truly great drivers share the same car in Formula 1 has rarely happened at all, and when it has, it hasn’t often ended well between the pair of them in terms of maintaining a personal relationship – think Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna at McLaren, or Nelson Piquet and Nigel Mansell at Williams as prime examples of this.
But no matter, that doesn’t stop us from having a bit of fun and asking the question about who would do better in the same car between the reigning World Champion and the sport’s all-time most successful race winner, all for our brand new Formula 1 channel.
On Track GP will feature regular live broadcasts throughout the upcoming season starting from next weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix, and will make use of technology launched by GFN to ‘beam in’ F1 fans live from all over the world to talk about their views on the day’s events from the world of Formula 1.
