Racing Point will be in action at Silverstone as Lance Stroll takes their 2020 car for a spin during a “filming day” on June 17.

Teams are preparing for the season to start in Austria from July 3-5, but before that several are getting some testing mileage in to shake off the cobwebs before returning to competitive action.

Mercedes have completed a two-day test at Silverstone using 2018’s W09, while Ferrari are planning a test at Fiorano.

But Racing Point will be breaking the trend by using their 2020 car, the RP20, for their second and final permitted filming day of the year at Silverstone on June 17 with Stroll behind the wheel.

Speaking to, Racing Point team principal Otmar Szafnauer said: “We’re definitely looking forward to seeing how competitive it is.

“I think the first few circuits should be OK for us, even Hungary, and Silverstone should be OK too. Then we’re back to Barcelona, and over the winter we looked pretty decent there.

“I think that schedule should bode well for us. So we’re very much looking forward to seeing how the car performs and what we can do at each one of those circuits to find the sweet spot and optimise the set-up.”
