Red Bull have unveiled a special fan-designed livery that Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez will run at this weekend’s Miami Grand Prix.

Not for the first time, Red Bull will run an alternate livery on a grand prix weekend after the team opened it up to members of The Paddock loyalty programme to design their Miami look.

Following on from Star Wars, Superman and their Honda tribute to name a few, graphic design student Martina Andriano created the winning livery for Miami.

Bringing in the light pink and blue of the Miami Grand Prix logo, Andriano said: “The moment when I found out I’d won I was shocked and speechless, I couldn’t believe it – it feels like a crazy dream.

“The first thing I thought about when I started my design was how the air flows through and over the car, then how it moves and how fast it is and that is where my inspiration came from,” she said.

“Then, of course I wanted to represent Miami and Miami’s race so all of that was the inspiration.”

The team unveiled the colours ahead the Miami weekend, saying on Twitter: ‘Designed by you, the fans. Unveiling our livery for the Miami GP.’

Red Bull head into the grand prix holding down the 1-2 in the Drivers’ Championship with Perez trailing Verstappen by six points after his Baku win.

Team boss Christian Horner has made it clear his drivers are free to race.

“Well there’s six points between them after four races so yeah, they’re both competitive drivers,” he said.

“They both want to win, which is why they’re employed by the team. And I think that it’s down to what they do on the track.

“They were free to race today and, all year so far, they’ve been free.”

Asked if that would continue, he added: “Yes, until the team’s interests, if you’re competing against a competitor, becomes bigger than the drivers’ interests.

“But, as it is at the moment, they’re free to race.”
