Sebastian Vettel says SF1000 now feels like a different car.

Ferrari’s fears over their performance will have only grown further after Sebastian Vettel was eliminated in Q2 in Austria.

After Friday practice concluded both Vettel and team-mate Charles Leclerc spoke of how the SF1000 needed work on all areas, and already the team were counting down the days until upgrades are set to arrive at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

We weren’t sure if to believe the Scuderia’s pessimistic words, but qualifying for the Austrian Grand Prix left us with no choice but to buy in to their talk.

Leclerc finished Q2 all the way down in P10, over one second slower than Valtteri Bottas who topped the session.

“That’s crazy” he said on team radio when informed of his lowly position.

But the situation was even worse for Vettel who had a scruffy final lap, and Alex Albon’s big improvement on his last flying lap dumped Vettel down into P11 for the race on Sunday.
