Sebastian Vettel hopes Ferrari “pick the right shoes for Sunday” after they produced the goods during practice at the Belgian GP on Friday.

Ferrari are still searching for their first win of the season and they made an excellent return to racing after the summer break as they claimed back-to-back 1-2s in free practice at Spa.

Vettel topped the timesheets in FP1 before team-mate Charles Leclerc hit the front later in the day.

The German, who is currently fourth in the Drivers’ standings, is not getting too carried away with Ferrari’s Friday form.

“It’s Friday, I think we have seen this on a couple of Fridays already,” he said.

“The most important thing is that we pick the right Ferrari shoes for Sunday.”

He added: “As I said, it’s not the first time that Ferrari looked good for us. Probably Saturday morning will look good for us and then we will see what happens on Saturday afternoon. I’m not taking anything for granted.”
