Williams will be going ‘Bolder than Bold’ for the Singapore, Japanese and Qatar GPs after the fans had their say on the special Gulf-inspired livery which they wanted to see hit the track.

Under the partnership between Williams and sponsor Gulf Oil, Williams announced that a fan vote would take place to decide which Gulf-themed livery their FW45 would be kitted out in for the F1 2023 rounds in Singapore, Japan and Qatar.

And now that the results of that vote have been confirmed, we have our winner.

Bolder than Bold is in at Williams

Fans had four options to choose from in the vote, those being Heritage, Contemporary, Visionary and Bolder than Bold, with Heritage being the one which most closely resembled the very popular Gulf-inspired livery which McLaren ran back at the 2021 Monaco Grand Prix.

But, it was the Bolder than Bold design which resonated the most with the Williams fans, only just, nudging out the Heritage design with 51.9 per cent of the votes.

Before Singapore though, we will get a glimpse of the Bolder than Bold design in real life when it will be worn by an FW45 show car at the Goodwood Festival of Speed which takes place from 13-16 July.

Gulf Oil International CEO Mike Jones added: “We are extremely proud of our partnership with Williams Racing and this livery is marking an iconic moment in motorsport history.
