Williams thank Lance Stroll ahead of 'last' grand prix

Williams have all but announced that Lance Stroll is off to Force India next season, thanking the Canadian for his efforts ahead of his “last” grand prix with the team.

With his father, Lawrence, leading the consortium that purchased the Force India team back in August, it has been just a matter of time before 19-year-old Lance swaps teams.

While that was initially expected to take place during this season, Stroll will line up on the Abu Dhabi grid at the season finale as a Williams driver.

This race, though, will be his last with team.

“Thanks for some epic moments over the last two years, Lance!” Williams tweeted on Sunday morning.

“Good luck for the future and here’s to one last flying start.”

Although this year’s championship has been anything but a success for Williams or Stroll, last year in his debut campaign he bagged a podium finish at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix proving that the teenager does have ability.

Now we wait for that not-at-all-shocking Force India announcement.
