Nigel Mansell recorded 59 podium finishes in his Formula 1 career, but can you name all 12 from his 1992 season?
Mansell, who is celebrating his 69th birthday on the day we have produced this quiz, became the seventh British winner of the Formula 1 Drivers’ World Championship with a dominant season in 1992, finishing on the podium in all but four of the races – which resulted in DNFs.
In every race he did finish, the worst result he achieved was second place, doing so on three occasions to go alongside his nine race wins.
Despite turning 39 years of age, the competition just could not keep up with Mansell and he earned more than double the points of second-placed Riccardo Patrese, who was Mansell’s team-mate at Williams.
‘The Lion’ was recently reunited with his Williams FW14B that he drove as he became the newest and fifth oldest winner of the Drivers’ Championship, but how well do you remember that season?
To tide you over until the end of the 2022 summer break, we are asking you to name all 12 of Mansell’s podiums from the 1992 season. To help you out, you can name either the country the race took place in or the circuit.
If you like what you see, we have plenty of quizzes on PlanetF1 including this test of Jenson Button’s team-mates. But if you are after even more, just search F1 Quiz in the search bar and take your pick.
We also have our very own F1 Wordle game called Sportword, where you have six attempts to guess the mystery F1-related word.
But for now, give this a quiz a go while you wonder just how good you would look with a Mansell-style moustache.
