Five drivers hit with Russia grid penalties

Five drivers have Russia grid penalties
Fernando Alonso, Daniel Ricciardo, Max Verstappen, Pierre Gasly and Brendon Hartley all have grid penalties for the Russian Grand Prix.
The FIA confirmed all five drivers have taken on a raft of new engine parts ahead of Sunday’s race in Sochi.
Red Bull have fitted a new engine, turbo, MGU-H and MGU-K to both of their RB14 cars as Ricciardo and Verstappen switch back to Renault’s Spec-B engine.
Honda confirmed on Thursday afternoon that both Gasly and Hartley will have their new Spec-3 power units fitted, while McLaren’s Alonso has also had a complete change in power unit components.
There was a mad dash out of the garages between the five ahead of FP1 in Sochi, as the order they lined up at the end of the pit lane determined their grid position on Sunday, barring any more penalties for other drivers, of course.
Lando Norris, in Alonso’s car, was first out of the blocks, followed by Ricciardo, Verstappen, Gasly and Hartley at the back.
