Renault address reliability woes with updated engine

Daniel Ricciardo remains "very confident" that Renault can turn their 2019 season around.
Renault will introduce an updated engine at this weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix with the changes aimed at improving reliability.
Reliability has not been Renault’s strong suit this season with the both the works drivers and customers suffering issues.
Renault have already introduced an updated MGU-K after a double DNF in Bahrain with Daniel Ricciardo revealing they have now brought forward their latest engine upgrade in the hope of resolving other issues issues.
“It’s mainly for reliability,” the Aussie said. “I don’t know how much detail they’ve gone into, or what parts have changed.
“Some materials, I know what they are but I don’t know how much I can obviously say, but some materials have changed to help reliability. So, for now, that’s the target.”
Ricciardo is hoping that once Renault fix their reliability problems, the team can then focus on performance.
He added: “Obviously we’ll see that it’s more reliable, then we can start again pushing the power curve and all those other things that everyone does in qualifying and all that.”
