Alonso returns to the Spec 3 with penalties

The good news for Fernando Alonso is that his MCL32 will be powered by Honda’s Spec 3 engine at Silverstone; the bad news is that the engine change comes with penalties.
Last time out in Austria, Alonso had to race Honda’s older spec engine after his Spec 3 suffered a MGU-H on the Friday.
This weekend at Silverstone he will be back with the Spec 3 unit.
However, that change means penalties await the Spaniard.
Alonso will reportedly use a new energy store this weekend meaning a five-place grid penalty as it is his fifth of the season.
The penalty tally is unlikely to stop there with Honda conceding that more could follow Friday’s practices.
