Ferrari boss Maurizio Arrivabene has rubbished rumours that his job is on the line after Scuderia has failed to win a race so far this season.
With rumours circulating last week that Arrivabene is set to be replaced by current technical director James Allison, the Italian said that whoever started the chatter had the aim of disrupting the inner workings of the team.
Arrivabene added that the speculation was so absurd that he was surprised that Game of Thrones character Tyrion Lannister was not mentioned as one of his many possible successors.
“I’m not listening to all these rumors,” he said.
“The only objective of these rumors is to create tension inside the team, and this is not helping. We need to focus our talent on what we are doing without listening to all of this.
“This rumor was also talking about somebody from Mercedes blah blah blah.
“Who’s taking advantage of this? No one. I said the other day that the only name they forgot to put into the list, because the list was full of names, was Tyrion Lannister.
“He’s maybe the best candidate, but they forgot to put his name on.”
