Arrivabene: We will never give up

Despite being 219-points behind Mercedes on the Constructors’ Championship table, Ferrari boss, Maurizio Arrivabene, has said that they won’t give up on the season.

Ferrari have failed to win a race in 2016, with Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel racking up a combined five second-place finishes.

Adding to their shortcomings, the Scuderia have also been overtaken by Red Bull on the Championship table and are no longer the Silver Arrows’ main competitor.

However, despite their underwhelming season, Arrivabene is still optimistic that they can close out the year strongly, but did add that they are also keeping an eye on 2017.

“We will never give up on this season!,” he told formula1.com in an exclusive chat.

“Of course next year is important and we have a huge amount of focus on that – but it is the responsibility of each and every person in the team to do our best to be successful.

“We will never stop fighting – and we will do everything to find the right balance between what we want to achieve in 2016 and what in 2017.

“Of course we had hoped for more so far – and we’ve taken some action and my guess is that for the last races we should be on an upward trend. The spirit in the team is good and everybody is looking in the same direction. We will take every single race at a time. That is all we can do.”
