Bernie ‘happy’ to move Italian GP to Imola

Bernie Ecclestone says he would be happy to race the Italian GP at Imola if Monza cannot agree a new deal.

As Ecclestone’s protracted negotiations with Monza officials continue, the F1 supremo has once again warned that he has other options.

And one of those is Imola.

The track last hosted a grand prix in 2006, however, should Monza fail to agree a new deal, it could be back on the calendar as early as next season.

Ecclestone said: “We need to rely a little bit on the national sporting authority in the country to support it, so if it doesn’t happen in Monza and they want it in Imola, we are happy to support Imola.”
