Bernie Ecclestone has called for a quick decision to be made on the fate of cash-strapped Nurburgring circuit, in an interview with German regional newspaper Rhein-Zeitung.
“The negotiations have to be finished in the next few weeks, if a race is going to take place in 2013,” said the F1 supremo.
The Nurburgring’s majority shareholder revealed on Wednesday that the circuit is 13 million euros in debt, leaving them with no option but to instruct the track’s management board to start an insolvency process.
Since 2009, the famous venue has shared hosting rights for the German Grand Prix with Hockenheim, which is due to host Sunday’s edition of the race.
