Valtteri Bottas is expecting an “exciting” Abu Dhabi GP as he goes head-to-head with Kimi Raikkonen for fourth in the Drivers’ standings.
Although the championships and their runners-up have already been decided, P4 remains up for grabs.
Heading into the final race of this season Bottas holds the position by one point ahead of fellow Finn Kimi Raikkonen with Paddy Power favouring him to finish ahead.
It promises to be an interesting tussle between the two especially in light of their recent collisions.
“I go into the last race of the championship in fourth place in the Drivers’ Championship, just one point ahead fifth,” said Bottas.
“I know many people would say it’s not important to finish fourth, fifth, or sixth in the championship but I don’t look at it that way. For me every position is important. I want to finish as high up in the championship as possible and, for me, that’s the way to go.
“It’s certainly going to be close in Abu Dhabi because whoever finishes in front of the other will get that fourth place. It’s going to be an exciting race, for sure. We were very competitive there last year, so let’s hope it will be the same.”
Last season Bottas achieved a third-place at the Yas Marina circuit and, while a repeat may be a long-shot with the bookies, he is keen to finish in style.
“I’m just focused on the final race of the season,” he added. “We want to finish on a high, we expect to be competitive in Abu Dhabi and I’m looking forward to a good race there, to finish the season in style.”
