Bottas: Williams will win again

After being released by Williams to join Mercedes as a replacement for World Champion Nico Rosberg, Valtteri Bottas has no doubt his former team will go back to winning ways.

During his nine-years at the Grove-based outfit, the Finn claimed nine podiums and accumulated 411 points for Williams. 

However, their last victory in the sport came in Spain back in 2012, when Pastor Maldonado stood number one on the podium, which came as a surprise.

Despite joining the already successful Silver Arrow garage, Bottas still has hopes that Williams can one day win the World Championship again.

“It’s been an amazing learning curve for me and also the team,” the 28-year-old said in a video message on Twitter.

“Every year you can feel the team has gone more and more professional. Things are developing, even though sometimes the results don’t show it.

“I always say Williams has won so many championships that there’s no reason why it couldn’t win again. I think it’s only for this team a matter of time.

“It’s a shame we couldn’t get together our first win or the title, but I wish all the best to everyone at Williams and a lot of success. And I hope you will get the championship rather sooner than later."
