Button ‘living in the moment’

Jenson Button is uncertain as to whether he wants to continue in F1 despite “loving it” at this moment in time.

The McLaren driver is out on contract at the end of this season and has been linked to a return to Williams.

As yet, though, the door to McLaren is not closed.

The team has Fernando Alonso on the books for next season while many expect Stoffel Vandoorne will step up to a race-seat.

But until such a time as both are confirmed, Button could yet remain with McLaren for a further season.

Asked by BBC Radio 5 live whether he was still enjoying F1 and if he wanted to continue, he responded: “At this moment in time, I am loving it. The second part of your question, I can’t answer.”

He added that he “hadn’t thought about” his future.

He continued: “I keep getting asked the question. I’m living in the moment.”
