Jenson Button reckons Sebastian Vettel is a man under pressure this weekend as the Championship leader has the most to lose.

Vettel is holding a 13-point advantage over Fernando Alonso ahead of Sunday’s title showdown in Brazil, a race that will see one of the two clinch their third World title.

“Sebastian has a healthy lead, which is a positive, but also a negative,” Button told Autosport. “You feel more under pressure as you are the guy being hunted.

“You’d like to be in Sebastian’s position in terms of points, but Fernando’s position is exciting.”

Vettel, though, may face more than just a challenge from Alonso come Sunday as the weather is set to play a massive role with heavy rain forecast.

“If it’s wet, it’s tricky for Sebastian,” said the McLaren driver.

“Even though he’s got the lead it’s tough mentally because you feel you have more to lose, and whatever he says, he still has more to lose.”

And Button is familiar with being the one with the most to lose as in 2009 he arrived at the Interlagos circuit leading the Championship but with Rubens Barrichello closing fast.

“For me one of my competitors was Brazilian which made it even tougher,” Button said.

“I did feel a lot of pressure that weekend. Bad qualifying in the wet and Saturday evening I felt under massive pressure before Sunday.

“But for those two, they’ve both won two Championships now and if I found myself in that same position I wouldn’t feel as much under pressure.”
