Lewis Hamilton reckons Jenson Button is the “best” team-mate he’s had in F1, although not necessarily the quickest.
Button is the third team-mate that Hamilton has come up against since joining McLaren in 2007.
The first was Fernando Alonso and the tension between the two was well documented while the next was Heikki Kovalainen, who, although the partnership was amicable, was no match for Hamilton.
Button became Hamilton’s third team-mate in 2010 when the then-reigning Champion moved over from Brawn GP.
And although Hamilton has had the advantage over his fellow Brit, he is adamant that Button is the “best overall” package that he’s been teamed up with.
“To be a good driver, it’s not only about speed,” Hamilton told The Sun.
“It’s about your presence in the team, the comments you make, your persona and your behaviour when you win and when you lose.
“Jenson is definitely the best overall package I’ve been up against.”
