One of Formula One’s newest teams on the grid, Caterham F1 is still finding its footing in the sport.
Debut: 2010 Australian Grand Prix
Drivers’ titles: 0
Constructors’ titles: 0
Opting to enter F1 in 2010 with a brand new team, Caterham – previously known as Team Lotus – were best of the newcomers for the first three seasons.
However, as team owner Tony Fernandes soon discovered, F1 is not an easy sport to break into.
The team has yet to secure their first World Championship point and every step towards the midfield is countered by the midfield improving.
As such while Caterham – who has yet to confirm a single driver for the Championship – will be hoping for a huge leap in 2014, barring a miracle the midfield is likely to take a further step away from the backmarkers.
But, having said that, the engine regulations could cause the grid to implode at the start of the season, something Caterham will need to take advantage of if they hope to steal 10th back from Marussia.
