Current cars to be used in demo runs
FIA’s World Motor Sport Council have relaxed the rules regarding which cars can be used in demonstration runs, meaning we will see current Formula 1 cars showcased out on the road.
Teams have been restricted to just two demo days of no more than 15km between the last race of the season and the end of the calendar year to essentially allow World Championship winners to celebrate their success with the car fired up.
Also, only cars that are at least two years old are allowed to be run during the season, but now, following the huge success of the F1 Live event in London where all 10 teams participated and 100,000 fans attended, current cars will be allowed to run.
The most recent cars to feature at that event were from 2015.
