Paul di Resta was not happy with his qualifying showing in India after the Force India driver slumped to his worst grid slot of this season.
Arguably one of the most important weekends for his Indian Formula One team, neither di Resta nor team-mate Nico Hulkenberg covered themselves in glory on Saturday.
The duo finished qualifying 16th and 12th respectively.
“Difficult,” di Resta told Sky Sports. “Probably the worst I’ve been in the car all year.
“I didn’t do a good job, so it’s just disappointing because we wanted to go into qualifying with a strong car. But when you lack confidence you can’t get it out of the car.
“This is an important weekend for us and clearly we’re not making enough of an impact. It’s been like that all day and we didn’t sort it enough to go into qualifying with a strong car.
“Nico is definitely happier than I am but he’s missed out on Q3 as well. We have a lot of hard work to do tomorrow.”
