As Friday’s practice sessions came to a close, Australian Grand Prix champion Nico Rosberg has said that the two sessions he took part in were encouraging.
Rosberg and his teammate Lewis Hamilton were dominant once again at the start of the Bahrain Grand Prix race weekend, with the two Mercedes drivers claiming one and two for a second time in a row.
Rosberg also added that going into Saturday's practice and qualifiers, he would like to build on the momentum after his race winning weekend performance in Melbourne at the start of the season.
"I couldn't wait to get back in the car after Melbourne and I felt really good out there," the 30-year-old German driver said.
"It's been an encouraging first day for the team.
“We were very quick on one lap and also on the longer runs, so I'm really looking forward to qualifying and the race – I like this track very much."
