Ex-Ferrari engineer slams team bosses

Former Ferrari chief engineer Luca Baldisserri has slammed Scuderia bosses Sergio Marchionne and Maurizio Arrivabene as they are suffering one of their worst seasons in the team’s history.
Ferrari have yet to win a race in 2016, with Red Bull and Mercedes being the only constructors’ this year to come out victorious after race weekends.
The Italian went onto say that Ferrari are no longer a team but rather a group of scared people who are afraid of getting fired.
“Unfortunately neither [president Sergio] Marchionne nor [team boss Maurizio] Arrivabene have experience in racing, a culture that the Scuderia of today has lost,” Baldisserri told Corriere dello Sport.
“They are no longer a team, but a group of scared people. There is a climate of fear. The boys don’t take risks for fear of being fired in disgrace.”
He also added that the Scuderia should do everything in their power to retain the services of quadruple World Champion Sebastian Vettel.
“(Kimi) Raikkonen is doing better than in 2015, Vettel a lot worse … It’s important for Ferrari to recover him and to hold on to him, at least in the short term,” he concluded.
