Ferrari in no hurry to decide 2017 line-up

Ferrari are not yet considering their 2017 driver line-up, although Kimi Raikkonen’s decision to move over for Sebastian Vettel in Baku has been noted.

Raikkonen is out of contract at the end of this season with several drivers linked to his race-seat.

The most recent candidate is Sergio Perez, who beat the Finn to third place in Sunday’s European Grand Prix.

However for now Ferrari are not looking at their options, although team boss Maurizio Arrivabene says Raikkonen showed himself to a “good team-mate” when he moved over for Vettel on Sunday evening.

“It is too early to talk about next season because the number of victories we have is still zero,” Crash.net quotes Arrivabene as having said.

“There is a long way to go.

“Kimi is back on and is fully concentrated on doing his job.

“Today he demonstrated that he is a good team-mate of Sebastian but if you look at Kimi in a certain sector he was the faster one at one stage.

“He is doing his job, we are looking, we are not in a hurry and I must say that he is not in a hurry.”
