FP2: Hamilton P1 as Bulls show pace

Lewis Hamilton was once again the driver to beat in Hungary, however, Red Bull came to the fore only for an engine failure to mar their progress.
As the sun baked down on the Hungaroring circuit, just 18 drivers took the track for FP2.
Force India opted to sit out the session as a precautionary measure as the team continued to investigate the cause of Sergio Perez's dramatic crash and flip in the morning's session.
As per usual, Mercedes quickly came to the fore with Lewis Hamilton setting the pace with a 1:25.613. However, rather than Nico Rosberg lining up in second place, it was the Red Bull of Daniel Ricciardo.
The Aussie, using the medium tyres like his rivals, posted a 1:26.023 to slide into second place, splitting the Mercedes drivers.
Demonstrating that his time was not a fluke, Daniil Kvyat slotted into fourth place as the nature of the Hungaroring circuit negated many of the RB11 and its Renault engine's weaknesses.
Sebastian Vettel was fifth ahead of Kimi Raikkonen, Valtteri Bottas and Jenson Button, another driver taking advantage of the track's tight and twisty characteristics.
The drivers made an early swap from the medium tyres to the soft shortly after the 30 minute mark.
As it all played out, Mercedes were again leading the way as Hamilton posted a 1:23.949. That put him comfortably quickest but, not ahead of Rosberg, rather it was ahead of Kvyat.
The Red Bull racer's 1:24.300 was 0.351s off the pace while his team-mate Ricciardo finished P3, a further 0.151s down. Rosberg had to settle for fourth, 0.719s off the pace.
Kimi Raikkonen, the first driver to change tyres, was P5 ahead of Carlos Sainz and Sebastian Vettel. Fernando Alonso was the McLaren driver who made it into the top ten, setting the eighth fastest time, 1.803s down.
Valtteri Bottas, with his new front wing, and Felipe Massa completed the top ten.
With 40 minutes remaining, the drivers re-emerged on their used tyres. Hamilton and Ricciardo both lapped on the soft tyres with the Red Bull racer a match for the Mercedes driver.
However, that came to an end with 22 minutes remaining when his RB11 suffered a spectacular engine failure with plumes of smoke pouring from the back. That briefly brought out the red flags as he stopped at Turn 11.
Six minutes later the session was green-flagged, leaving the drivers with just 15 minutes to continue their race preparations. During that time Kvyat complained about Ericsson in the traffic, Vettel spun at Turn 1 and Sauber had brake-by-wire concerns.
