‘Frank Williams will never retire’

Claire Williams concedes she is going to have to stay on as deputy team principal at Williams for years to come as her father Frank will never retire.

Claire took up the role of deputy team principal in March 2013 and played a significant role in the team's return to form.

Although the Grove outfit recorded heavy financial losses in 2014, they finished third in the Championship, a position they believe will help them turn that financial hit around this year.

However, there won't be a promotion on the cards no matter as she says her father Frank, co-founder of the team, has no plans to retire.

"Frank is team principal. Always has been and always will be until we find him one day face down on the desk," she told Reuters.

"Frank is in there 24/7, he's in the office more than any of us. He loves it, he's passionate about it but he has a management team in place that he trusts to run the business.

"But Frank is there, he will always be and has no plans to retire. It wouldn't be the same without him."
