Hard as it may be to believe, another season of F1 racing is just around the bend. The year’s racing begins on March 16th in Melbourne, Australia, where last year’s World Champion Sebastian Vettel will seek to continue his unprecedented winning streak with victory down under.
Who’ll be in the mix?
The bookies’ favourite to take first place in Melbourne this year is not in fact the superb Sebastian Vettel, but British former World Champ Lewis Hamilton, who’ll be starting the season with high hopes of restoring himself to former glories. At 9/4, he’s clearly regarded as the prime candidate in the field to do so…
But there are other big contenders who’ll undoubtedly be lining up alongside Hamilton in contention for pole position… Alonso is also well fancied at 11/2, whilst Vettel is down alongside Rosberg at 6/1. If you’re more accustomed to playing casino games like those you’ll find at Euro Palace Online Casino Download than sports betting, all this talk of odds must have you scratching your head, so let’s move on to a little more in-depth car talk which should have everyone else scratching theirs…
Powering down
There have been many great F1 drivers over the years, but there’s seldom been a great driver who has prospered without the right machine at his disposal. The F1’s drivers will start this season with considerably different cars at their disposal to the vehicles used in the previous season, which could result in serious effects on the track. Perhaps the most significant change of all is that F1 engines are powering down…
Environmental lobbying against the V8 engines which Formula 1 cars used up until last season has resulted in a mandatory reduction in the size of the engines used. Where drivers were racing using 750 horse power engines last season, this season they’ll only be able to harness 600 horse power. That familiar roar of the F1 race-car engines will be that little bit less hearty in 2014…
Grand Prix entertainment
In order to hear the afore-mentioned familiar F1 roar in all its glory, you’ve obviously got to make the trip to the circuit and watch the race in the flesh! The Australians are encouraged racing fans to do just that by putting on a spectacular programme of entertainment to compliment their Grand Prix. The attractions will include an all-Aussie line-up of musical performers and an array of corporate suites which will be available to more free-spending F1 fans!
