Grosjean loses out on Friday updates

Romain Grosjean has revealed he won’t run Haas’ Spanish updates until Saturday after losing a coin toss against Kevin Magnussen.

Like their rivals Haas arrived at the Circuit de Catalunya with various updates for the VF17.

The team, though, only has one updated package that will be ready for Friday meaning Grosjean won’t get his updates until Saturday’s final practice.

“Unfortunately I won’t have it until Saturday, so that’s not ideal,” he said.

“There’s only one available right now and I didn’t get it.

“It’s not ideal because it’s a big change, lots of [new] things on the car, I don’t know what tomorrow is going to be for us.”

Asked why Magnussen got the Friday updates, Grosjean said it was down to luck.

“It was a coin toss and I’ve never been lucky with that!” he said.
