Romain Grosjean has been hit with a grid penalty following his accident with Daniel Ricciardo at the Monaco Grand Prix.

The Frenchman didn’t have the best of weekends in Monte Carlo as he was involved in four crashes, which even those who bet on F1 had not foreseen.

The worst of them was on Sunday when he drove into the back of the Ricciardo’s Toro Rosso.

The Australian came off worse as his race was over immediately while Grosjean nursed his Lotus E21 back to the pits for a new nose. However, he was forced to retire a few laps later.

Stewards, though, investigated the incident after the race and Grosjean was handed a 10-place grid penalty for the Canadian Grand Prix.

His Lotus team-mate Kimi Raikkonen was also in hot water after the race for exceeding the prescribed speed during a Safety Car period, but he escaped with just a reprimand.

Paddy Power has Grosjean at 300/1 to win this year’s World Championship.
