Haas blocked early payout to Force India

Force India are reportedly in a bit of trouble after Haas refused permission for them to receive their prize money in advance.

Under Formula 1 regulations, should any team want their prize money to be paid in advance by Formula One Management, they need permission from all their rivals.

According to Auto Bild, Force India have “always” received a share of their prize money in January to cover the high costs during Formula 1’s winter break.

However this year they won’t as Haas voted no.

The report claims that “all the other teams gave the green light” but as Haas said no, Force India will have to wait until May when the money is scheduled to be paid out.

Having finished fourth in the 2016 Constructors’ Championship, Force India can expect an estimated payment of 120 million Euros.
