Haas will reportedly run the latest Ferrari upgraded engine at the Spanish Grand Prix.

Last time out in Russia, Ferrari spent three development tokens to upgrade their engine with both Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen using the latest spec power unit.

Ferrari's customers – Haas and Sauber – opted to hold off.

Speaking at Sochi, team boss Guenther Steiner said a decision would be made in the coming days.

"It will be decided this week what we are doing," he said.

"We don’t know exactly in the manufacturing schedule if we will use the new engine. If we get the new engine for there then yes we will have it but we need to see if it all lines up."

According to Motorsport.com, Haas have now made that decision and will run the upgraded engine in at the Barcelona circuit.

It is a track that F1 newcomers are looking forward to racing on as will give them an idea of their progress over the first few races of this season.

"We can go to Spain and look at the data we had from the test and compare it and see if we’ve gone wrong somewhere," said Steiner.

"We are still in the ballpark because the car felt good but it’s the first track we have been on that we have data so it’s always nice to go back and compare what we had before there."
