The Halo cockpit protection device is under review as majority of the drivers on the grid have voted against it, putting doubt on a 2018 introduction as intended.

With the Halo device getting the go-ahead to continue it's development over Red Bull’s Aeroscreen concept, many drivers were against having any protection.

German publication Auto, Motor und Sport revealed the results from the FIA survey done to see the reception of the Halo device. Out of 22 drivers, 16 answers were received, with 7 voting against it, 5 for it, and 4 abstaining.

World Champion Nico Rosberg is all for more safety in sport following the death of Jules Bianchi in 2014.

"It's impressive how much we've improved over the past years," said Rosberg.

"But unfortunately, two years ago we lost a colleague which was a severe setback for our sport. That's why we must still try to make it better."
