Hamilton praises Rosberg for pole
Championship leader Lewis Hamilton said that his team-mate Nico Rosberg showed the true potential of the car after the German claimed pole position ahead of Sunday's Singapore Grand Prix.
Hamilton, who qualified P3, was not only pipped by Rosberg but also by Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo.
The Brit admitted that his final hot lap was plagued with errors but still remained confident that he can replicate Rosberg's use of the Silver Arrow and maintain, or extend, his two-point lead on the Championship table.
"It was not really a frustrating session, it has just not been my weekend so far," the triple World Champion explained.
"I have not really got many good laps out there and I was not able to string them together. That was the case today.
"Nico did a good job, obviously showed the true potential of the car and hopefully tomorrow I will try and at least get one step up and get the 1-2 for the team.
"I've not really looked at the long runs to be honest and obviously I didn't get to do the long runs yesterday so I'm not quite sure. I think Nico did some running but our cars are set-up a little bit different. I don't think we're in a bad position but I'll find out tomorrow for the first time."
