Honda intend using ‘all’ remaining tokens

Honda’s F1 chief Yusuke Hasegawa says the Japanese manufacturer will incorporate more updates before the season is over as they intend using “all” 10 remaining tokens.

Looking to close the gap on their rivals in their second season back in F1, Honda introduced two upgrades during the first half of the championship.

As such McLaren’s engine partner has 10 tokens remaining, but Hasegawa says they will also all of them before the end of the season.

“We are working on developments for updates all the time,” he told F1i.

“However, we are not sure at which race we can implement the updates because we need to balance performance with reliability.

“Once we can confirm that, there is no reason for us to wait, we will put them in as soon as we can.

“We have 10 tokens left for the 2016 season, so our goal is to use all of it within this season.”

Honda introduced an updated turbo in Montreal and a revised ICE at Silverstone.
