Red Bull fans can breathe easy again as Sebastian Vettel has assured the team that he has not signed an agreement with Ferrari.

Rumours were doing the rounds a few months ago that the two-time World Champion had a pre-contract for 2014 with the Italian squad.

Ferrari team boss Stefano Domenicali then added fuel to the flames by claiming Vettel and Fernando Alonso “easily co-exist together”, but the German was quick to confirm his commitment to Red Bull by saying that although he was flattered by the praise from Ferrari he is “very happy” at Milton Keynes.

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has now dismissed the speculation.

“I have spoken with Sebastian about it and he’s made it quite clear that he hasn’t had any dialogue and hasn’t signed anything with Ferrari. The rumour mill always will continue…” he is quoted as saying by Reuters.

Vettel hasn’t been the only one who has been linked with Ferrari in recent months, but Horner insists he is not concerned about the speculation.

“I think most of our team has been going to Ferrari at some point this year, whether it be (designer) Adrian (Newey), Mark (Webber), Sebastian, even myself at one stage was supposed to be going,” he added.

“Sebastian is very comfortable in the team, the team is very comfortable with Sebastian. He’s been with Red Bull for over 12 years now and I think he will be us for quite a few years to come.

“I have no concern over Sebastian and where he will be in 2013, 2014 or beyond.”
