Kimi Raikkonen insists he is happy with life at Lotus, but also admits “you never know what happens in the future”.

Raikkonen returned to Formula One at the start of this season following a two-year stint in the away in the World Rallying Championship.

His successful comeback has led to speculation that he could return to either McLaren or Ferrari next year, but the Finn insists he will stay at Lotus, well for now at least.

“I have a good relationship with the team… people are pushing 100 per cent and they are real racing people not so much politics, they want to do well in the races and that is a good starting point,” he is quoted as saying by Reuters.

“I enjoy working with the people, very nice and I’m happy here but you never know what happens in the future but right now I’m happy with what’s going on,” he added.

Although he is yet to win a race, his consistency has helped him to stay in the hunt for the 2012 title and he is just 38 points behind Championship pacesetter Fernando Alonso with only seven races left the campaign.

“Winning is the easiest way to achieve the Championship, but unfortunately I haven’t been able to win this year but we have been putting ourselves close to there, giving us a chance at least…we haven’t made any big mistakes,” the 32-year-old said.
