Kvyat out, Gasly in for Malaysian GP

Pierre Gasly is set to replace Daniil Kvyat for Toro Rosso at the Malaysian Grand Prix, according to several reports.

Gasly has been waiting in the wings for a chance in Formula 1 and was ready to take Carlos Sainz's spot if the Spaniard was to make his confirmed move to Renault earlier than planned.

But the 21-year-old Frenchman is now poised to take Kvyat's place for the next two races in Malaysia and Japan before Kvyat would return for the United States Grand Prix, as that clashes with the final round of the Japanese Super Formula championship.

Gasly has previously been described as the next "logical choice" to join Toro Rosso by Red Bull boss Christian Horner and looks very likely to get some experience behind the wheel in Formula 1 before a full-time move next season.
