Lauda: ‘Nico has the hardest job’
The current dominance of F1 by Lewis Hamilton is making life extremely tough for his team-mate Nico Rosberg, that's the opinion of Niki Lauda.
"Lewis is currently in top form. He makes virtually no errors, and his self-confidence knows no bounds," Lauda told Auto Motor und Sport in a recent interview.
The former three-time World Champion feels that Rosberg must up his game. "Nico has to try to break the run of Lewis and put him under pressure."
Rosberg has not managed to out-qualify his team-mate yet this season, even allowing Sebastian Vettel to get the better of him on the Saturday in Malaysia and Bahrain.
Added to that, the Brit has won three grands prix already this season while Rosberg has yet to get off the mark.
This form follows on from last season when Hamilton put Rosberg under immense pressure and beat him to the Drivers' title at the season finale.
Lauda feels the only way Rosberg can start to get back into contention is by beating Hamilton on pace.
"If he beats him once with his speed then the other one (Hamilton) will begin to think about it," he stated.
Rosberg currently trails his team-mate by 27 points and will want to follow Lauda's advice when racing resumes for the Spanish Grand Prix on 10 May.
