Liverpool v Bournemouth

Newly-appointed Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will be targeting the first win of his tenure when Bournemouth visit Anfield in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday night.

The former Dortmund boss has recorded three consecutive draws since taking over from Brendan Rodgers at the helm, the most recent of which was a 1-1 stalemate at home to Southampton.

The Cherries, meanwhile, head into the fourth-round clash on the back of consecutive 5-1 defeats to Manchester City and Tottenham respectively.

As such, the Merseysiders will be confident of seeing off the challenge of their Premier League rivals and booking their place in the quarter-finals.

However, they will be mindful of the fact they struggled to overcome the very same opponents at the start of the league campaign, Christian Benteke's controversial goal proving the difference on the day.

On the team news front, Klopp is expected to rotate his squad for the midweek tie with one eye on the upcoming match against Chelsea.

Long-term absentees Jordan Henderson, Jon Flanagan, Joe Gomes and Danny Ings remain on the treatment table. Jordan Rossiter and Daniel Sturridge are closing in on returns but this match comes too soon for them.

James Milner misses out through suspension after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season against Southampton.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe also has several injury problems to contend with.

Max Gradel, Tyrone Mings, Tommy Elphick and Callum Wilson miss out again, but Lee Tomlin (illness) and Harry Arter (hip/thigh) are expected to feature.
