Lotus Renault team owner Gerard Lopez admits the team still has no idea when Robert Kubica might return to Formula One.
The Polish driver has been out of action since February when he was seriously injured in a rally accident.
Kubica had to undergo four separate operations to repair the damage with doctors predicting he won’t be back this season.
However, he is determined to return to racing, although when that may be is still unknown.
“At the moment neither us nor Robert must think about these things,” Lopez told Gazzetta dello Sport.
The team signed Nick Heidfeld as Kubica’s replacement and the German did them proud in Malaysia, securing the team’s second podium finish of the campaign.
“We are extremely happy with Heidfeld. His character is very different from Kubica’s, but he has set inside the team very well.
“Robert at the moment must keep his focus on his recovery only.”
